Spirit Line founder Corey Freedman led a skin-on-frame boat building renaissance over thirty years ago. In that time he built dozens of umiaks and thousands of biadarka kayaks, reintroducing beautiful designs and traditional techniques to paddlers worldwide. An avid paddler and innovator by nature, Corey created and sourced modern materials optimized for performance and durability. All the products we offer here have been carefully selected, tested, and used by the Skin Boat School. We are proud to say that most of the items offered are produced in North America.
skinboats.com LLC is now run by Corey's sister Beth and brother-in-law Ron Bennett. We'll do our best to continue to support the adventurous, compassionate community that Corey loved.
